Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Ice2Thrust newsletter, where we highlight our newest scientific publications, share project updates, and introduce some of the
scientists shaping our journey. Stay tuned - there’s more to come!
Ice2Thrust.Space took part in the International Astronautical Congress 2025, in Sydney, one of the leading global gatherings for space science, technology & innovation.
The event brought together industry leaders, researchers, investors, and policymakers.
On Day 3 of the event, our Project Coordinator Chiara Manfletti, Professor at Technical University of Munich and CEO of Neuraspace, participated in a high-level panel discussion focused on in-space solar power technologies.
Representatives from the In-Space Solar Energy Harvesting (ISSEH) Portfolio met on the 17th of October 2025 in Sofia. Over the past year, the nine projects have mapped current technologies, identified R&I gaps, and outlined opportunities for innovation. Each shared progress and recommendations for the upcoming Strategic Portfolio Plan.
Ice2Thrust.Space Showcases Viktor Danchev – Advancing Space Mobility Through Science and Engineering
Ice2Thrust.Space is proud to highlight the contribution of Viktor Danchev, Chief Technology Officer at EnduroSat, who plays a key role in shaping the advancing of Space Mobility through science and engineering.
Reinforcement Learning for Autonomous Proximity Operations of Small Spacecraft
Aman Arora, PhD candidate at the University of Luxembourg, is developing reinforcement-learning-based guidance and control strategies to enable small spacecraft to navigate, approach, and dock with high precision.
For Tomas Mrazek, curiosity has always come with a spark – sometimes literally, encouraged early on by teachers who valued experimentation. Not all attempts succeeded, but each failure accelerated a passion for understanding how things move, flow, and sometimes fall apart.
The European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC), in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) bring together space agencies, industry leaders, researchers and early-stage ventures. The event is addressing the scientific, technological, economic, legal and regulatory dimensions of space resources. Read more.
Conference on Space Propulsion, presenting thruster testing and cold-gas system design. The event highlights programmatic and technical issues and promotes exchange of views and information in the two main areas of propulsion for spacecraft and for space transportation. 700+ professionals from over 30 countries are expected at the event, including engineers and scientists from government, university and industry.
